Video about TMCC vision

View a short video (3 min) by Matthew Little about the vision for Tokyo Multicultural Church.

Note that the launch date for TMCC is now early 2013 instead of late 2012 as stated in the video.

Prayer walk held at Kinshicho for TMCC on Jan 12

We led a prayer walk for Tokyo Multicultural Church (TMCC) around the Kinshicho station (Sobu and Hanzomon lines) on the evening of Jan 12, 2012. There were seven of us from Musashino Chapel Center, English Department–the primary partner church of TMCC.

As we walked in two’s and threes’s we prayed for the future place of TMCC, more partners for TMCC, and wise planning for TMCC over the next year. After walking and praying, we gathered for some discussion and a final short time of prayer at a nearby coffee shop–and for warming up!

Our goal is to launch TMCC in early 2013, after Dale and Ann complete a year of tsunami recovery ministry in northeastern Japan.

Donations for launching TMCC reach $9000!

As of the end of November 2011, Tokyo Multicultural Church overseas partner church donations have reached $9000!

To launch TMCC in December 2012 we will likely need $12,000 for initial rent, damage deposit, realtor fees, and moving in fees (excluding furnishings, sound/video equipment, etc.). So we are at 75% of our start up goal for facility rental. Praise the Lord!

Donations to TMCC surpass $8000

As of mid-October 2011, TMCC partner churches have donated over $8000 toward our TMCC church planting project fund!

TMCC now has four overseas partner churches

As of October 2011, TMCC has four partner churches in the USA, one each in California, Connecticut, Michigan, and Maine.

Two more US churches are considering the possibility of becoming overseas partners.

Our first North American partner church has joined us!

Cayucos Community Church

In January 2011, our first North American church joined Tokyo Multicultural Church as a partner church. Cayucos Community Church is an Evangelical Free Church in California. Welcome aboard, folks at Cayucos Community Church!

Several other churches are considering becoming TMCC partners.

Next prayer walk for TMCC is Feb 10

The next prayer walk for TMCC is scheduled for the evening of Feb 10, 2011. Dale and Ann will be in Tokyo at that time, and will help to lead the prayer walk. The prayer walk will once again be in the vicinity of Kinshicho station.

Prayer walk for TMCC at Kinshicho

Kinshicho station area office buildings

The English Department of Musashino Chapel Center (MCC) held a prayer walk on Nov 25 (US Thanksgiving) for TMCC, in lieu of their normal Thursday evening prayer meeting. While walking around the Kinshicho train station area–the TMCC target area–they lifted up before the Lord this exciting new church planting project to be launched in the fall of 2011.

MCC (English Department) is the primary partner church of our TMCC church planting project. See the “partner church links” on this blog. The MCC church planting planning committee is working with the Dale and Ann in developing the strategy for launching TMCC.

TMCC seeking short term missionaries!

Short term ministry opportunities are now available annually at TMCC. The first short term openings are during the fall of 2011.

“TMCC Partnership” fund set up in EFCCM

On Sep 28/2010, the EFCCM set up a special financial project for Tokyo Multicultural Church, called “TMCC Partnership.” The goal of this fund is $3100 per month over four years (2011-2015).

The fund will provide much of the initial funding for planting TMCC. Donations are invited from both churches and individuals. Contributions to this special project will be applied to initial ministry and facility expenses of TMCC. These are the kinds of expenses that a baby church particularly struggles with in the first years of its life.
