TMCC partners and planners

PARTNERS: We are now actively seeking overseas partners for TMCC. Overseas church partners have the option of sending short term personnel to Tokyo in order to join us in planting TMCC. For example, we are seeking interim pastors who can serve for about three months–perhaps pastors who are seeking a sabbatical. These kinds of overseas partners can become involved in the strategic planning for TMCC. Click here for more information about the commitment and involvement of overseas partners.

PLANNERS: We have formed a TMCC church planting planning committee, composed of MCC members, to carry on strategic planning while Dale and Ann Little take a one year home assignment (Aug/2010 – Sep/2011). The members of this committee will meet several times during that year. But most strategic meetings will take place virtually over the internet (e.g., skype) or by email.

MCC English Department votes to become the primary partner church of TMCC

On Sunday afternoon, June 6, the English Department congregation of Musashino Chapel Center (Tokyo Musashino Evangelical Free Church) voted unanimously to become the primary partner church of this Tokyo Multicultural Church church planting project. This is great news for TMCC! It will especially help in recruiting overseas church partners for this exciting new project.

The English Department congregation directed the English Council (English Department board) to develop ways of encouraging and supporting TMCC. One decision made by the English Council immediately after the congregational meeting was to form a “church planting committee” (name may be changed) to act as the link between MCC and TMCC, and to continue developing TMCC strategy.

Plucars begin pastoral ministry at MCC

Howard and Marilynn PlucarHoward and Marilynn Plucar began their pastoral ministry at the English Department of Musashino Chapel Center (MCC) on Feb 7, 2010. Dale and Ann Little were the interim pastoral couple from Nov/2007 – Jan/2010.

So from February through June 2010, the Littles, along with the Plucars and the MCC English Council (the leadership team of the English Department of MCC), will be casting vision for planting Tokyo Multicultural Church on the east side of Tokyo.

Littles’ home assignment

Dale and Ann will begin their home assignment in the US and Canada in August 2010. Their plans are to return to Tokyo in September 2011, at which point they will focus on starting several of the language-specific congregations of Tokyo Multicultural Church.
