Prayer walk held at Kinshicho for TMCC on Jan 12

We led a prayer walk for Tokyo Multicultural Church (TMCC) around the Kinshicho station (Sobu and Hanzomon lines) on the evening of Jan 12, 2012. There were seven of us from Musashino Chapel Center, English Department–the primary partner church of TMCC.

As we walked in two’s and threes’s we prayed for the future place of TMCC, more partners for TMCC, and wise planning for TMCC over the next year. After walking and praying, we gathered for some discussion and a final short time of prayer at a nearby coffee shop–and for warming up!

Our goal is to launch TMCC in early 2013, after Dale and Ann complete a year of tsunami recovery ministry in northeastern Japan.

Next prayer walk for TMCC is Feb 10

The next prayer walk for TMCC is scheduled for the evening of Feb 10, 2011. Dale and Ann will be in Tokyo at that time, and will help to lead the prayer walk. The prayer walk will once again be in the vicinity of Kinshicho station.

The English Department of Musashino Chapel Center (MCC) held a prayer walk on Nov 25 (US Thanksgiving) for TMCC, in lieu of their normal Thursday evening prayer meeting. While walking around the Kinshicho train station area–the TMCC target area–they lifted up before the Lord this exciting new church planting project to be launched in the fall of 2011.

MCC (English Department) is the primary partner church of our TMCC church planting project. See the “partner church links” on this blog. The MCC church planting planning committee is working with the Dale and Ann in developing the strategy for launching TMCC.

“Church Planting: Exploring Options” video

At the MCC English Department on May 2, Dale Little used a presentation called “Church Planting: Exploring Options” to describe the basic concept of TMCC. Input was invited from the English congregation. There was general enthusiasm for the TMCC church planting project, so it was decided that English Department members will vote on the church planting proposal at a congregational meeting set for June 6.

The discussion at the forum highlighted at least two issues that need further clarification: the definition of “mother church” (now changed to “primary church partner”) and the need to explain this project more widely in the Japanese Department of MCC.
